#3: Linfield suspends MBB HC Rosenberg for a verbal altercation with a parent during the team’s season finale. Reports indicate that student-athletes and parents attempted to speak with AD Killgore, but were told he could not discuss a personnel matter. The group then proceeded to request time with President Davis, who stepped out of a board meeting to engage the group for 45 minutes. Rosenberg was apparently told employment with the university could be immediately terminated, or he could take 21 days to consider a severance agreement. That same day, Killgore e-mailed the team to indicate the suspension was “still in place until we have a resolution.” Per Assoc. VP for Communications Nelson: “The university has heard from many people in the past week, some of whom support Coach Rosenberg and others who have concerns about his demeanor and actions over the years. We appreciate hearing from all of them, and respect their perspectives. No single incident or message will necessarily determine whether the athletic department decides to keep a coach after the season concludes.” (link, link)
