Union WBB HC Campbell will become the Bulldogs' next AD, succeeding retiring AD Sadler, while maintaining his coaching duties. Fort Lewis received a $4M commitment from Centura Health, the official sports medicine and orthopedics provider of Skyhawks Athletics. The largest gift in FLC Foundation history will go toward a 10K square-foot renovation of the Aquatics Center to transform the space into the Centura Sports Performance Center, which will house strength and conditioning, athletic training, and physical therapy amenities. Fresno Pacific receives a $3M donation from the Daniel R. Martin Family Foundation to kickstart a three-phase renovation to FPU Diamond that will include new seating, locker room, concession stand and more. (link)

IUP FB HC Tortorella goes unfiltered with his thoughts on the transfer portal, calling the flood of player movement “totally ridiculous,” while acknowledging that “If you’re a good player and you’re at a bad program, I get why you’d get into the portal. I get it. You want to be loyal, but you want to win.” Notes that his staff has had to shift their transfer focus away from DI S-As: “The best scenario would be a good Division II player who has played a lot. That’s who we deal with now mostly because Division I guys transfer to other Division I’s.” Tortorella also explains that he doesn’t begrudge his own S-As from entering the portal, but “Once they do, that’s it. There’s no testing the water. It’s a chemistry issue, but it’s also a money issue. We can’t hold a guy’s scholarship to see if he’s coming back. You’re either in or you’re out.” But as an old dog is forced to learn new tricks, he maintains he is still happy on his side of the fence: “The most pure college football there is, is in Division II. You have a little bit of the portal and a little bit of transfers, there’s not much NIL, and coaches don’t move around as much. It’s more grounded. As coaches, you can build longer relationships with the players.” (link)
