Fuller to Step Down as Deputy AD for External Affairs

The Charlotte 49ers announced today that Chris Fuller, Deputy Athletic Director for External Affairs, plans to leave his position effective July 30, 2023.

"Chris has been a key member of our leadership team for nearly five years and his impact cannot be overstated," said Director of Athletics Mike Hill. "His experience, wisdom and character have made him an invaluable teammate, and we are going to miss his strong presence."

Fuller joined the Charlotte 49ers staff in July of 2018 and has been responsible for external business units, including marketing, ticket operations, communications, licensing and corporate sponsorships. Additionally, he has served as the sport administrator for men's basketball and men's tennis.

"It has been an absolute pleasure to work closely with Mike and our colleagues in the department and University," said Fuller. "I began this timeline with Mike last spring with plans to announce this semester. I've been incredibly blessed throughout my 30+ year career in college athletics – it's time to create an opportunity for the next leader. This University is a special place and it's just getting started."

The department plans to initiate a comprehensive search to fill the Deputy Athletic Director position.
