Zeigler Named Assistant Athletics Director for External Affairs

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University Vice President for Athletics Chauncey Winbush announced today that Tim Zeigler has been named Assistant Athletics Director for External Affairs.

"We are really excited to welcome Tim back to Shepherdstown to head up this important position of revenue generation for our department," said Winbush. "As a local product and alumni, I am positive that Tim will have immediate success in this role."

Zeigler comes to Shepherd from a position as the Sports and Recreation Director at the YMCA in Waynesboro, Pa. Among his duties were coordinating various camps, supervising youth and adult leagues, financial management oversight, and providing for special needs groups and individuals.

"I am thrilled to be working with the athletics department at Shepherd," said Zeigler. "I would like to thank Mr. Winbush and Dr. Hendrix for providing me this opportunity! I look forward to working with community leaders, coaches, student-athletes, Shepherd alumni and staff as we continue to set and achieve new goals for Ram Nation."

Zeigler has more than 10 years of experience in fitness and athletics fields. His experience includes coaching, management, fund raising, planning marketing events, and interacting with the community. He has had coaching involvement at the high school and collegiate levels.

No stranger to Shepherd athletics, Zeigler served as an assistant coach for the Shepherd men's basketball team from 2011-13. He also had coaching stints at Spring Mills High School, Berkeley Springs High School, and Hagerstown Community College.

Zeigler earned a bachelor's degree in sports communication from Shepherd. He also gained a master's degree in sports management from West Virginia University.
