THE RUNDOWN

Iona shot the lights out in a dominating victory over Rider, breaking a pair of NCAA records in the process. Natalia Otkhmezuri joined the three-point party at the midway point in the second frame, building Iona's lead to 37-23. The Gaels went almost five minutes before their next attempt, one that Juana Camilion buried in the final minute of the half to put Iona ahead 48-25.

After shooting 20-33 from the floor and 9-10 from deep in the first half, the Maroon & Gold continued to pour it on in the second half. Noa Givon knocked down a historic three for the Gaels, the 14th consecutive make in the contest to break the NCAA record held by NC State. Her trifecta with 8:15 left in the fourth quarter padded Iona's lead to 80-45. Otkhmezuri followed with Iona's 15th straight make from beyond the arc, giving Iona its largest lead of the evening, 83-45. Petra Oborilova provided the icing on the cake, burying her first three of the season and Iona's 16th of the night. Iona's record-setting evening was capped off by Ale Civera's first career basket, helping Iona break the 90-point plateau for the first time since 2014.
