WILSON, N.C. – Barton College has named J.T. Deppe interim Head Men's Volleyball Coach, officials in the Division of Athletics have announced earlier today. Deppe replaces Jeff Lennox, who stepped down after a decade at the helm.
Deppe, a 2021 graduate of King University (Tenn.), was a standout men's volleyball player on the Tornado squad for the past five seasons (2018-22).

I am pleased Coach (J.T.) Deppe will assume the leadership of our men's volleyball program," said Barton Director of Athletics Todd Wilkinson. "
He brings a passion for the sport, a strong worth ethic and most importantly cares about our players on the team. J.T. will do a fantastic job and we are excited he wants to be here. Our program is in great hands and the men's volleyball team is ready to get started with Coach Deppe."
Deppe graduated as one of the program's best-ever players, ranking third all-time in program history in assists. In addition, Deppe led the squad to two Conference Carolinas Regular Season Championships (2018 and 2019), the 2018 league tournament title and one berth in the NCAA National Tournament (2018).

Deppe has served as a volunteer assistant for King's women's volleyball team in addition to coaching at Notre Dame Academy in Milwaukee, Wis., and for the Milwaukee Sting Volleyball Club. Deppe recently interned with the National Football League's Green Bay Packers.
Deppe, a five-time Conference Carolinas All-Academic honoree, earned his MBA from King in July of 2022. Deppe was also the King University Al Nida Award Winner for Male Athlete of the Year. Deppe is a native of Green Bay, Wis.
