Eastern Illinois women's soccer coach Jake Plant will resign his position as the Panthers head coach to pursue another professional head coaching position after leading the EIU women's program since the 2018 season.
 
A former player with the EIU men's soccer program, Plant led the Panthers to three OVC Tournament appearances in five seasons including advancing to the OVC semifinals during the 2018 campaign. 
 
This past season EIU set a school record for consecutive shutouts with four as they posted the third best goals against average in school history at 0.81 GAA.
 
EIU will begin a national search for its next head coach.
