Florida Southern Announces Plans for New Golf Clubhouse at Lone Palm

LAKELAND, Fla. – Florida Southern College recently announced plans for the construction of a clubhouse exclusively for the College's men's and women's golf programs to be located at Lone Palm Golf Club in Lakeland, home of the Florida Southern College teams. The new state-of-the-art clubhouse will have several exciting features for the current and future members of the FSC golf programs.

Owners of a combined 17 team National Championships and 17 individual National Champions, the Florida Southern golf programs have been some of the most successful in the country and will now have a home mirroring that success on the course. The new capital project will feature separate locker rooms for both the men's and women's programs, two TrackMan hitting simulators, a PuttView putting studio, a players lounge for both programs to enjoy, a fitness area, two offices for the respective head coaches, a conference room, academic study area, and a Champion's Lobby which will feature the numerous trophies both programs have won over the years.

The clubhouse will also have an outdoor veranda overlooking the 18th fairway and the practice facility at Lone Palm and will also feature a golf cart garage for the teams' use.

The new state-of-the-art tools will help recruit, educate, and train Florida Southern student-athletes for years to come and will help both teams remain among the elite programs nationwide.  The project is being managed by Register Construction, and is expected to break ground in 2023.

"We would first like to thank Lone Palm for not only allowing us to use their magnificent course but to be able to build this promising new facility at the club," Drew Howard commented, Director of Athletics and Dean of Wellness. "We would also like to thank our Board of Trustees as well as all of the various donors that have helped this project come to reality."

"I am thrilled beyond words about our new clubhouse and to have it built at Lone Palm Golf Club is truly a blessing from our alumni, friends, and family," stated Head Women's Golf Coach Robbie Davis. "This facility will not only be our new golf home but will be a game changer in recruiting and building more competitive teams for the Florida Southern Golf Programs for years to come."

"We are excited to offer our student-athletes an elite indoor facility to call their own," said Head Men's Golf Coach Lee White '12. "Our goal has always been to provide every resource needed for current and future Mocs to reach their goals on the golf course. We're so thankful to all those who have stepped up to make this project a reality."
