NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Yale Athletics has announced a partnership with GOLF+, a revolutionary virtual reality (VR) golf application that will bring the historic Yale Golf Course to life through an immersive VR experience.
 
GOLF+'s investors feature some of the biggest names in sports and business such as Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth, Tom Brady, Stephen Curry, and Ben Crenshaw.
 
The Yale Golf Course will become the first university-owned course on the platform and is set to join newly added courses, Pebble Beach Golf Links and Pinehurst No. 2 in Spring of 2023.

The Yale Golf Course, which hosted the 2022 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Regional, continues to be ranked the No. 1 college golf course in the country by Golfweek Magazine and multiple golf news outlets.

Additionally, the course is ranked No. 83 in the world by Golf Magazine and is consistently recognized as the finest collegiate course in the nation. It has been the site of every significant state championship, two USGA Junior National events, and NCAA Regionals in 1991, 1995, 2004, 2010, 2015 and 2022.

The course has also been the home of the Nike Connecticut Open. Earlier this year it was named one of the best "classic" courses by Golfweek. Yale's course ranked No. 60 on the list of 200 best layouts built before 1960.

Last year, it was announced that Gil Hanse and his company, Hanse Golf Course Design, would head an architectural restoration master plan for the iconic course.
