KIELY NAMED HEAD STRENGTH & CONDITIONING COACH

Michael Kiely has been named as the head strength & conditioning coach at UVA Wise, Director of Athletics Kendall Rainey announced today.

"We are delighted to welcome Michael to our team," Rainey said. "Michael's experiences and philosophies align with the mission of UVA Wise Athletics and our student-athletes and coaches are eager to work with him. He is an excellent addition to our staff and will make an immediate impact on our sport programs."

Kiely comes to Wise after serving as the assistant strength and conditioning coach at Delaware State University since January of this year. Kiely assisted in training for all 20 Delaware State varsity athletic programs and served as the primary training director for  men's and women's Basketball, track & field, women's soccer, women's tennis, women's golf, and cheerleading.

Prior to his stint at Delaware State, Kiely served as the head strength & conditioning coach at Howard Community College from January of 2018 to December of 2021. For the Dragons, Kiely spearheaded the implementation of rehabilitation programs and workouts for all nine varsity programs.

Kiely earned his Bachelor's in Exercise and Sport Science at Guilford College and completed his Master's in Human Performance from Liberty University.

Kiely officially begins at UVA Wise on Monday, Dec. 5.
