CAU Names Roderick Slack Head Coach for Women's Tennis

ATLANTA, Ga. | Clark Atlanta Director of Athletics Dr. Jerel Drew has announced the hiring of Atlanta native Roderick "Coach Rod" Slack as the next head coach of the Clark Atlanta women's tennis team.

Slack has spent the last 12 years managing OnlyTheBall Tennis Academy in Marietta working with promising juniors on developing their tennis skills.

Before that, he was on the staff at the Sandy Springs Tennis Center where he developed their developmental tennis program.

Prior to the Sandy Springs Tennis Center, he worked at the South Fulton Tennis Center in College Park, Georgia where he served as a Staff Pro before being promoted to Director of Tennis.

Slack has an extensive amateur playing background having achieved rankings in every age division from open men's 35s, 40s, and 45s.

He coached the Atlanta International School boys and girls tennis team in 1999.

Slack is also a Certified Exercise and Conditioning Specialist, USPTA Elite Tennis Professional, and a PTR Certified Coach

This is his first position at the collegiate level. Coach Rod is extremely excited to be given the reins to this dynamic program. Being a native of Atlanta motivates him even more to move this program forward.
