Weatherman Promoted to Chief Operating Officer of the Athletic Foundation

The Charlotte 49ers have announced the promotion of Associate Athletic Director Kelly Weatherman to Chief Operating Officer of the Athletic Foundation. Weatherman, who has over 20 years of experience with the 49ers, is a graduate of the university and a former student-athlete.

She has served as Associate Athletic Director for Development and Administration for the past three years. Under her leadership, the Athletic Foundation membership increased by nearly 50% from 2020 while the Annual Fund has grown from $1.6m to over $2.25m.

In addition to her role running the 49er Club's Annual Fund campaign, Weatherman has overseen the Judy W. Rose Let Me Play Luncheon and the 49er Club Golf Outing, hosted donors on football and basketball road trips, coordinated hospitality and parking for athletic foundation members and provided strategic input as a member of the Athletic Department's Senior Staff. She also serves as a liaison with the Athletic Foundation Board of Directors.

She created and implemented the seat assignment and parking plans for the debut of the 49ers football program, developed and executed the plan to bring alcohol sales to athletic events and orchestrated some of the key technological advancements in donor relations.

Weatherman began her career with the Athletic Foundation in 2001 as the Director of Annual Giving. She was named the Assistant Director of the Athletic Foundation in 2004 and became its Associate Executive Director in 2017.

A member of the 49ers' NCAA Division I women's swim team, she graduated from UNC Charlotte in 1988 with a degree in English with Secondary Teaching Certification. She earned a master's degree in English from Longwood College in 1992.
