HONOLULU (KITV4) -- The University of Hawaii - Manoa is expected to announce the process in its search for its next athletics director next week.
In January, David Matlin announced his intention to retire as UH’s athletics director, effective June 2, 2023.
A university spokesman confirmed to KITV4 that the job posting for the UH AD job has not yet been posted.
However, sometime next week, UH is sending out an announcement describing the process that will be used and the timing of everything.
Matlin has served as AD since March 2015. During his time at UH, he hired 16 head coaches and oversaw approximately $80 million in facility upgrades while also fundraising $45 million in the last seven years.
When he steps down in June, Matlin will be the fifth-longest serving athletics director in UH history.
