The Lawlor Events Center scoreboard has not been fully functional this season, which has irked some Wolf Pack basketball fans as player stats have not been displayed on the overhead system.

Nevada athletic director Stephanie Rempe addressed the issue in an email Wednesday night to Wolf Pack season-ticker holders, saying the problem requires a "significant capital investment" and will not be corrected this season.

"As you all know, we have experienced ongoing issues with our digital scoreboards and courtside sponsorship boards in Lawlor," Rempe wrote in the email. "I know this has been a tremendous frustration for everyone and we sincerely apologize. Despite extensive efforts to resolve these issues, we unfortunately will not be able to provide stats on the overhead scoreboard ribbon for the remainder of the season.

"As a department, we are committed to upholding our responsibility to ensure that you have the best possible experience while visiting our athletic facilities. Transparency is critical to me in my role as your athletic director. In addressing the issue at hand, we found that our multiple software products have failed in their ability to translate the file data properly. The only solution is a long-term, significant capital investment. We are committed to solving these technical challenges over the next several months in preparation for next season.

"Although hosting games without a stat board is below our expectation, we are committed to providing our fans the best atmosphere for the remainder of the season. Please consider downloading our Wolf Pack mobile app prior to arriving at the arena. The app provides an opportunity for you to track the live in-game stats on your phone."

Rempe began her letter by thanking Wolf Pack fans for increased attendance at Lawlor. The Wolf Pack drew an announced attendance of 10,186 fans, a season high, for its last home game, a 72-52 win over Air Force last Friday. Nevada has three home games remaining, including this Friday at 8 p.m. against Fresno State. It also hosts San Jose State on Feb. 21 and UNLV in the regular-season finale March 4.

Nevada (19-6, 9-3 MW) is one game out of first place in the conference and in position to make its first NCAA Tournament since 2019, which would mark its first postseason berth under fourth-year head coach Steve Alford.

"March is quickly approaching and we have a lot to cheer for as we wrap up our home schedule with three more games!" Rempe wrote. "We need your help getting your friends to pack Lawlor and keep our home win streak alive – we want to sell out Lawlor these last three games and need your help to spread the word and get others to buy tickets and come to the games.

"As the excitement continues to build I want to send my sincere appreciation of the incredible energy that you have brought to this season’s games! The Mountain West Conference is one of most competitive basketball conferences in Division I and the atmosphere you foster makes competing in Lawlor Events Center a challenge for competitors and a special place for our team."

Nevada is undefeated at home this season at 12-0 and looking for its third perfect home record in program history after doing so in 2003-04 and 2018-19.
