CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- Boston College Athletics' Support Your Sport 2023 set a new fundraising record of over $1.47 million from nearly 4,200 donors.  Funds raised during Support Your Sport 2023 will directly impact the operating budgets of Boston College varsity teams.

The week-long initiative, held February 13-18, raised game-changing funds for Eagles' programs and showcased the passion and generosity of the BC community - especially Trustee Associate David Griffith '68 and Janet Griffith, who provided the funding for our prizes.

Congratulations are in order for all of our programs, but especially these three winners of the Support Your Sport 2023 challenge:

$25,000 Alumni Champion ($15,000 for runner-up)
Team with the highest percentage of student-athlete participation:
Winner: Sailing
Runner-Up: Women's Ice Hockey

$15,000 Recruiting Champion ($10,000 for runner-up)
Team with the highest number of unique, individual donors:
Winner: Swimming & Diving
Runner-Up: Cross Country/Track & Field

$10,000 Impact Champion ($5,000 for runner-up)
Team with the highest average gift size, min. 100 donors:
Winner: Men's Ice Hockey
Runner-Up: Fencing

Support Your Sport 2023 saw donations come in from 48 of the 50 states as well as five different countries.  Nearly 40% of donors were current or former BC student-athletes and almost 30% were alumni.

Over the past four years, the Support Your Sport campaign has raised nearly $4.5 million.
