In support of the WSC Athletic and Wellness Center Renovation, First National Bank of Omaha (FNBO) is making a $100,000 donation towards the project.

According to a release, this gift to Wayne State College supports two areas it focuses on in its corporate giving community health and well-being and community cohesion. This is the latest in FNBO's investment in the communities in which it serves, also noteworthy is FNBO's biannual Impact Grant cycle, which plans to distribute millions of dollars over the upcoming years.

FNBO has been a proud supporter of Wayne State since it came into the community in 1989 and is grateful for all of the highly qualified employees who have graduated from the institution. This news is especially positive as supporting projects like this is critical to improving student experiences in a competitive collegiate environment.

Dr. Marysz Rames, president of Wayne State College said, "FNBO's gift reflects the company's longstanding relationship with Wayne State. For more than 30 years, FNBO has supported Wayne State College initiatives such as the Center for Applied Technology and the Greatest Needs Fund. In addition, the company has been a longtime corporate supporter of Wildcat athletics and employs many WSC students and alumni. We are grateful for FNBO's support of the College's commitment to transforming the athletic and recreational experiences of our students."

With the addition of this facility, Wayne State continues to enhance the student experience by providing a space to focus on physical health and well-being. The new facility will serve as a positive reminder that Wayne State is continuously striving to provide its students and athletes with the best opportunities, in and outside of the classroom.

Jill Sweetland, Wayne site manager and collections director for FNBO mentioned, "FNBO prides itself in making a positive impact in the communities where we operate. We are proud to donate to the WSC Athletic, Recreation and Wellness Project, which will greatly impact the lives of students, many of whom are spending their college careers as FNBO employees. We hope this donation enhances our visibility on campus and strengthens FNBO as an employer of choice in the community. It's always a great day to be an FNBO employee – it's always a great day to be a Wildcat!"

FNBO has a long history of collaborating with the college since it established itself in Wayne in 1989. Beyond monetary support, it also offers internships, attends career fairs and hires qualified employees, including hundreds of Wayne State students in the local call centers, many of whom go on to work in other roles at FNBO. This has created an exceptional relationship between the two entities, with many Wayne State alumni significantly contributing to FNBO's competitive employee base.

Spencer Danner, Vice President Community Development, Corporate Philanthropy & Social Responsibility for FNBO added, "Wayne State is a key leader in driving the success of the local Wayne community. At FNBO, we understand our role as a strong community bank places us in a unique position to positively impact our communities at every level. That's why we're thrilled to support the Athletic and Wellness Center Renovation, which will enhance Wayne State's ability to provide an exceptional student and community experience."
