Red and Blue Collective Launched

Valued Duquesne Fans:

The ever-changing landscape of college athletics requires a holistic perspective and an adaptive strategy for success. In the past two years, the emergence of name, image and likeness (often referred to as NIL) has afforded student-athletes the opportunity to receive compensation for endorsements, appearances, conducting camps and clinics, and other activities.

The new reality is that the existence of NIL opportunities is now a critical success factor for sports programs – no different than the importance of facilities, coaching, sports performance programs and academic success programs. While Duquesne student-athletes have received NIL opportunities over the course of the last two years, the need to create a larger, more sustainable NIL program has always been a focus.

Thanks to a talented and passionate group of supporters, Duquesne is proud to announce that these individuals are now formally launching the "Red and Blue Collective". While institutions are not allowed to directly support or identify NIL opportunities, this group is permitted to do so; they have already identified and created multiple ways for companies, fans, and alumni to support Duquesne student-athletes. To assist with managing the day-to-day operations as well as securing additional NIL opportunities, the collective has elected to partner with the agency Student Athlete NIL (SANIL). SANIL is focused solely on the execution of student-athlete NIL opportunities and currently oversees 16 other collectives, including those established for Penn State, Oklahoma and Notre Dame basketball. Contributions to the Red and Blue Collective allow for direct compensation to student-athletes for their engagement across the community. I encourage you to visit the website redandbluecollective.com to learn more about how you can support Duquesne student-athletes.

As we continue to push for greater competitive success, this new and welcomed ability for student-athletes to capitalize on their name, image and likeness will be vital to achieving our goals. Additionally, as the NCAA and the world of intercollegiate athletics continue to evolve, we will keep you informed by communicating key information to you.

We thank the Red and Blue Collective, those who have already supported NIL opportunities and all of you who are paramount to our success.
