On Tuesday, March 7, the Elon Athletics community came together to raise more than $579,000 in support of Elon student-athletes for the 10th edition of "Elon Day", Elon University's Annual Day of Giving. This marks 10 consecutive years of Elon Day growth for Elon Athletics and represents a 40 percent growth in support since 2020.
Throughout the day, Elon alumni, parents, and fans had the opportunity to take part in various challenges and initiatives to assist our 400+ student-athletes. In total, more than 960 gifts were made by more than 750 donors to support scholarships, programs, facilities, and one new area of focus, nutrition and sports performance, which will help to enhance nutrition-related support and infrastructure that impacts each team and program at Elon. The breadth of support Elon Athletics received throughout the day was particularly impressive as more than 400 former student-athletes, donors from more than 40 states and five countries, and 164 parents made gifts to support the Phoenix Club.
Overall, on Elon Day 2023, more than $2.6 million was raised for Elon University, with 5,134 gifts made campus wide. Elon Day serves as a critically important day on the institution's annual calendar as the global community comes together to engage, support, and invest in the excellence that is the Elon Experience. Since 2014, more than $19 million has been raised through 45,000 gifts to support academics, athletics, and the student experience at Elon. This culture of philanthropic engagement has become one of Elon's unique campus traditions and experiences and has created a lasting and transformational mark on the campus community and beyond.
