Sports Business Awards 2023: The nominees

Presenting the 95 nominees for the 16th annual Sports Business Awards, recognizing excellence over the past year.

The winners in 13 categories will be determined by a group of more than 40 industry executives. Award winners in two categories — Athletic Director of the Year and Executive of the Year — will be selected solely by Sports Business Journal. Award recipients will be announced during our live event on Wednesday, May 24, at the New York Marriott Marquis Times Square.

The Celebration of Service Award recipient is the Sloane Stephens Foundation.

Gary Bettman, commissioner of the National Hockey League, will be presented with our Lifetime Achievement Award as well that night. Click here for more information on the event

NBC Olympics’ Molly Solomon, ESPN’s P.K. Subban, the Masters and more

On this week’s pod, SBJ’s Austin Karp has two Big Get interviews. The first is with Molly Solomon, who will lead NBC’s production of the Olympics, and she shares what the network is are planning for Paris 2024. Later in the show, we hear from ESPN’s P.K. Subban as the Stanley Cup Playoffs get set to start this weekend. SBJ’s Josh Carpenter also joins the show to share his insights from this year’s Masters, while Karp dishes on how the WNBA Draft’s record-breaking viewership is setting the league up for a new stratosphere of numbers.
