CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Colorado School of Mines wrestler Grayston DiBlasi has been named the recipient of the Elite 90 award for the 2023 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championship.

DiBlasi, a sophomore with a 3.97 GPA majoring in mechanical engineering, becomes the 12th Oredigger in any sport to earn the prestigious award, and the second wrestler joining Jordan Larsen in 2011.

DiBlasi's award also makes Mines the first institution in NCAA Division II to win four Elite 90 honors in one school year, as he joins Zoe Baker (women's cross country), Duncan Fuehne (men's cross country), and Ben Fuchs (football).

The NCAA Elite 90 recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the national championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. The Elite 90 is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA's championships.

DiBlasi is competing in his second NCAA Championship after going 27-5 in the regular season and earning First-Team All-RMAC honors finishing as the Super Region VI runner-up at 141 pounds. On Friday at the NCAA Championship meet, DiBlasi went 1-2 at 141 pounds.
