Delaware Athletics Announces Launch of Blue Hen Collective as Part of NIL Portfolio

Blue Hens,

As we navigate the ever-changing landscape of college athletics, it is clear that providing access and support for Name, Image and Likeness opportunities has become increasingly important. With that, I am excited to share an update on our Name, Image and Likeness portfolio for our Blue Hens student-athletes. Providing all of our student-athletes with the ability to capitalize on NIL opportunities is integral to our ability to retain our top performing Blue Hens and attract elite student-athletes.

Our NIL portfolio at Delaware supports our student-athletes in their Name, Image and Likeness efforts. We began by introducing NIL education through our Building Leaders Utilizing Education program, including personal branding, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and more. Late last year, we announced the Blue Hen Exchange, a student-athlete and business registry that allows businesses to connect directly with student-athletes for NIL opportunities.

Today, we are excited to announce the next component of our NIL portfolio, the launch of the Blue Hen Collective, powered by Student-Athlete NIL (SANIL), which also runs collectives at Penn State, Rutgers, Wake Forest, and George Washington, among other schools. The Blue Hen Collective is an exciting new way for businesses and fans to support the success of our student-athletes and teams in the NIL era.

The Blue Hen Collective will:
  • facilitate NIL opportunities between our student-athletes and local businesses, fans, donors, and other entities
  • create mutually beneficial activations for our student-athletes and local businesses, fans, donors, and other entities
  • maintain compliance with University and NCAA policies and ensure the university's best interests remain protected
The Blue Hen Collective offers an efficient, legislatively safe, and permissible way for those wanting to contribute towards NIL funds for Blue Hens student-athletes to do so.

Our Blue Hens family is incredibly proud and passionate, supporting our student-athletes and department through making philanthropic donations, purchasing tickets, attending games and events, and purchasing Delaware Blue Hens gear, and we are incredibly grateful. The Blue Hen Collective provides another way for our fans to directly support our student-athletes, helping them to build their personal brands, enjoy success during their collegiate careers, and be set up for further success upon graduation.

More information about our Name, Imagine and Likeness portfolio, the Blue Hen Collective and how to get involved in NIL opportunities for our student-athletes is available at our NIL website. If you'd like to directly support NIL opportunities for Blue Hens student-athletes, click here to contribute today. If you are interested in contributing to the Blue Hen Collective, but would like to learn more, please fill out this interest form and we'll follow up with more information.

We appreciate your continued support of our Blue Hens, as we continue to work together towards success for our student-athletes, our department, our university, and our community.

We are better together.

Go Hens!
