Iona Announces Partnership With Opendorse For Student-Athlete NIL Support

NEW ROCHELLE, NY – Iona University Director of Athletics Matthew Glovaski announced a partnership with Opendorse to support Gael athletes in the area of Name, Image, and Likeness. Through the partnership with Opendorse, Iona athletics will launch the Gael NIL Marketplace, where brands, fans, and supporters can browse, contact, and secure NIL opportunities with Iona student-athletes.

"We are excited to begin our partnership with Opendorse," said Glovaski. "As we continually strive to best position our student-athletes in all aspects of their Iona experience, this relationship with a premier partner will provide comprehensive support in the NIL space."

"Iona athletes are prepared to embrace NIL opportunities like never before," said Opendorse CEO Blake Lawrence. "With access to the industry's top-performing resources, Iona will empower its athletes to maximize their value and easily connect with supporters. We're proud to support the Gaels in their pursuit of NIL success."

Each Iona student-athlete will be able to create and customize a profile in the Marketplace, which they will also be able to promote through their own social media channels. All aspects of an NIL opportunity for a student-athlete, including reviewing offers, proof of fulfillment, disclosing deals to Iona Athletics, and receiving compensation will be supported within the Opendorse platform.

In addition to the Marketplace, Opendorse will support Iona Athletics through NIL education. Through a combination of in-person and virtual offerings, Opendorse will bring a broad range of expertise to Iona student-athletes, with an emphasis on the areas of maximizing name, image, and likeness potential, compliance with NCAA and New York State NIL guidelines, and financial literacy.
