Bronco Nation has inspired eight different individuals or families to combine for nine seven-figure gifts in the past 25 months

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State Athletics received a $1 million commitment, director of athletics Jeramiah Dickey announced Friday. The gift will be directed to the renovation of the Arguinchona Basketball Complex. The donor has requested to remain anonymous.

"Thank you, Bronco Nation," said Dickey. "Your spirit and belief has laid the groundwork and inspired others to join our team in support of all 350 Boise State student-athletes. Our sincere thanks to all of our supporters. Your commitment is breathing life into the What's Next initiative as we pursue long-term success and sustainability."

The Arguinchona Basketball Complex is a 10,000-square-foot, two-story facility named after long-time Bronco donors Larry and Karen Arguinchona. The facility serves as the primary home for the Bronco men's and women's basketball teams and is located outside of lobby three at ExtraMile Arena. The facility features a number of amenities to meet the needs of basketball student-athletes.

The future project aims to transform the training and practice environments of the basketball programs by adding a state-of-the-art weight room and live performance video technology to the practice facility. New offices for the coaching and support staff are also envisioned for the complex.

The anonymous gift is the ninth $1 million commitment to the Lyle Smith Society since the philanthropic giving society started in December 2020. Eight different individuals or families have combined to make the nine seven-figure gifts.

The Lyle Smith Society is a leadership giving society to support Boise State Athletics with the purpose to increase philanthropic revenues, provide consistent funding for scholarships, operational needs and capital projects. There are now 211 members.
