Cam Trudell and Ishita Tibrewal Join NACDA Staff

CLEVELAND – Following the recent realignment of duties for the NACDA Staff, Chief Executive Officer Pat Manak has announced the addition of Cam Trudell as Vice President and Ishita Tibrewal as Director.

"Cam and Ishita joining our staff comes at a critical time in our industry," said Manak. "The talents and skill sets they bring to the table will strengthen our efforts immensely in providing the best possible holistic experience for NACDA & Affiliates members, especially in terms of education and professional development, as administrators at all levels continue to work through significant changes in college athletics for both the short- and long-term."

Trudell will begin his duties as Vice President on January 17. He comes to NACDA from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) office, where he has served as Associate Commissioner since August 2020. During his time with the GLIAC, Trudell initiated a multi-year, multi-million dollar streaming agreement with FloSports and helped the conference fulfill a long-time goal of having a league-wide streaming partner. He also oversaw the GLIAC's Diversity & Inclusion Committee and Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). His responsibilities included compliance and sport oversight of football, women's basketball, men's soccer and softball. In November 2021, Trudell was appointed to the NCAA Division II Management Council.

As Vice President, Trudell will serve as the staff's Association liaison for CEFMA, DIIICA, NAADD, NADIIIAA and MOAA.

"I'm thrilled to be joining an organization that provides resources to its membership that are both unparalleled and necessary for everyone in the industry," Trudell said. "The collegiate landscape has rapidly evolved over the last few years, and NACDA has and will continue to serve as a requisite for industry leaders and young professionals."

An Ohio native, Trudell received a bachelor of arts in communications from Walsh University in 2014, where he was also a member of the Cavalier football team. He earned a master of science in education with a specialization in athletics administration from the University of Akron (UA) in 2016. Prior to the GLIAC, he spent two years at Butler University as the assistant compliance director, and was the athletics compliance coordinator at Walsh in 2017-18.

Tibrewal will begin her duties as Director on a part-time basis through the spring while completing her MBA/Master of Science in Sport Management at UMass Amherst. She will transition to full-time following the 2023 NACDA & Affiliates Convention. A 2021 McLendon Scholar, Tibrewal was also a recipient of the NCAA Ethnic Minority Postgraduate Scholarship on behalf of the NCAA Minority Opportunities and Interest Committee (MOIC) during her tenure at UMass.

Prior to her graduate work, Tibrewal served as the digital media coordinator for Minor League Baseball (MiLB) outside of St. Petersburg, Fla. from January through October 2020. Prior to working with the MiLB, Tibrewal was an Event Management and Sports Promotion Coordinator at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). At WPI, Tibrewal worked to enhance fan engagement through WPI's social media channels, as well as successfully generated five sponsorship deals with local businesses by creating a strategic marketing plan for the Engineers' athletics department. Tibrewal also spearheaded diversity and inclusion initiatives by implementing the "United We Win" campaign.

As Director, Tibrewal will focus on data and systems analytics, NACDA & Affiliates membership renewal and retention, new member solicitation and future initiatives, and salary and membership surveys. She will also assist Adrien Harraway with the continued growth and development of the McLendon Foundation and Minority Leadership Initiative (MLI).

"I am thankful to Pat, Julie, and Adrien for giving me this opportunity. I look forward to using my past experiences and knowledge to make an impact at NACDA and the McLendon Foundation," said Tibrewal. "I am very appreciative of all the opportunities that have been given to me through the McLendon Foundation, and I can't wait to begin to contribute to and further its mission."

A native of Kolkata, India, Tibrewal graduated magna cum laude from Mount Holyoke College in May 2018 where she double majored in economics and sports management. She was a four-year varsity letterwinner on the women's tennis team and served as team captain her senior year.
