SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Augustana Director of Athletics Josh Morton has announced the promotion of Ryan Hilgemann to Associate Athletics Director for Communications.
 
"Ryan has proven to be a leader in our department and his role is so important in telling the great story of Augustana student-athletes and Augustana athletics," Morton said. "Ryan will play a key role as we continue to elevate Viking athletics and continue our competitive excellence, distinction in the classroom, and faithful service to community."
 
Hilgemann began his duties at Augustana as Assistant Athletics Director for Communications in August, 2019. Under his watch, the Augustana athletics website, GoAugie.com, has experienced unprecedented growth, passing over one million site visits for the first time in 2022, an over 25% increase. 
 
Viking social media accounts have also grown 59.5 percent since he started at Augustana including 22.6 percent over the past year. 
 
Hilgemann will continue to oversee all communications, video and creative content for Augustana Athletics as well as serve on the department senior leadership team.
