Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference - Director of Strategic Communications

The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) is accepting applications for the position of Director of Strategic Communications. The PSAC is an 18-member NCAA Division II athletic conference with offices headquartered in Lock Haven, Pa.  

Responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of Conference operations with special emphasis on public relations/athletic communications activities. The director will be expected to coordinate design and function of the Conference web site and streaming network, and utilize social media to disseminate news about the Conference.  In addition, the director will be responsible for weekly awards, press releases, promotion of Conference championships and is expected to represent the Conference at select administrative meeting and championship events. Some night and weekend work is required. Oversight of an intern is included in the position responsibilities. The successful candidate will be expected to locate to the Lock Haven, Pa area.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will possess strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, and must be able to work well with tight deadlines. Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in athletics administration, collegiate sports publicity or related field. Must have extensive knowledge of Adobe Photoshop & InDesign, Microsoft Software, and a familiarity with content management for Web site editing, as well as social media outlets (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.).

Salary: Starting salary is expected to range from $44,000 to $47,000.
