UHY Center Receives Technology Enhancements

Addition of NEVCO Video Boards, LED Tables Transform Gameday Experience

LOUDONVILLE, NY – The home of Siena College Women's Basketball and Volleyball has been outfitted by NEVCO with video boards, LED sideline tables, new scoreboard and game clocks, as well video replay system upgrades for both programs. The additions were made possible thanks to a generous donation from Siena Volleyball alumna Lisa (Copeland) Moser '97 and her husband, Robert.

"The new technology in the UHY Center continues the enhancements that Siena has made to its athletic facility and the student athlete experience," said Siena College Vice President and Director of Athletics John D'Argenio. "Our entire athletic community thanks Lisa and Robert for making this possible. Lisa is a former student athlete at Siena who played on MAAC Championship teams, so her commitment to our programs means even more."

The new NEVCO technology – which was installed in December and debuted at the women's basketball game on New Year's Day – has transformed the UHY Center and enhanced the gameday experience for both Siena fans and student athletes alike.

Highlights of the installation feature a 10-foot-high by nearly 19-foot-wide video scoreboard affixed to the east side wall crowned by a three-foot-high decorative truss, a second eight-foot-high by 16-foot-wide video scoreboard affixed to the west side wall, three, 10-foot fully equipped LED scorers tables, two, 10-foot LED tables for press row, two auxiliary scoreboards affixed to each wall, and a new virtual scoring package complete with new scoreboard consoles, shot clocks, and locker room clocks.

"My family and I are pleased to be able to contribute to the student athlete and fan experience at Siena," said Moser, who is a member of the Siena College Board of Trustees. "Having been a Siena student athlete, I know firsthand how transformative that experience can be out on the court. As a member of our Board of Trustees, I value the impact that those positive experiences can contribute towards the future of Siena as well."

The former Lisa Copeland, Moser was a part of the first four Siena Volleyball MAAC Tournament Championship teams from 1993-96. She currently ranks ninth all-time in program history in attack percentage (.273), and also captured three MAAC Regular Season titles during her tenure.

The installation of the NEVCO technology marks the latest upgrades in a recent recreation of the UHY Center. As the focal point of the Marcelle Athletic Complex, the UHY Center was part of a $13.5 million, multi-phase enhancement to the athletic facility which began in 2016. Upgrades to the UHY Center were highlighted by an outdoors facelift including a new event entrance, new flooring and seating systems featuring the addition of chair-back seating, and the enclosed adjacent 8,360 square-foot Del Grosso Practice Court, exclusive to the Siena Men's and Women's Basketball programs. The footprint of the UHY Center also includes the new 2,800 square-foot George '54 and Sally Maloney Sports Medicine Suite, and the new 2,700 square-foot student athlete weight room.

Originally opened in 1974, the UHY Center serves as the home for Siena Women's Basketball and Volleyball, as well as numerous major annual campus events. The Siena Men's Basketball program called the facility its exclusive home from 1974-90, and part-time home from 1990-97. With a current seating capacity of 2,148, the UHY Center has hosted a record 14 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Volleyball Championships, three WNIT contests, two Women's Basketball Invitational games, and saw the men's basketball team capture the program's second National Postseason Tournament Championship when they won the College Basketball Invitational in 2014, the first being the 1950 National Catholic Invitational.
