Sun Devil Athletics Adding In-House Altius Sports Personnel to Manage Athlete NIL Operations

TEMPE, Ariz. (January 19, 2023) – Arizona State University Athletics and Altius Sports Partners (ASP) have expanded their partnership to include a full-time, on-campus NIL General Manager. ASP will hire, onboard, support, and manage an NIL GM placed on campus in Tempe advancing the university’s efforts to ensure Sun Devil athletes have the education, tools and resources to capitalize on their opportunities and navigate the NIL space.

The new GM will oversee day-to-day operations and manage a comprehensive NIL infrastructure including education, programming, monitoring, and working alongside Arizona State’s compliance office to maintain adherence to rules and regulations. Moreover, the on-campus GM will work closely with the athletics department to further enhance the student-athlete experience through ongoing programming and resources.

“We’re elated to continue the momentum with ASU Athletics, and joining the GM program only reinforces their investment and commitment to anchoring the NIL program with the best possible stewards who can help each and every Sun Devil get the most from their rights,” said Brittney Whiteside, ASP VP of Collegiate Partnerships.

An official partner of schools in all Power 5 conferences and the Big East, ASP specializes in developing and managing innovative NIL programs. Launched in July 2022 the GM program centralizes NIL support services as a standalone vertical within athletics departments. The program includes wide-ranging education of all stakeholders, as well as a customized approach for each department. ASP prioritizes development of student-athlete NIL while fostering collaboration with institutional partners and university supporters.

The GM initiative is an extension of ASP’s services, which are rooted in navigating and keeping school partners ahead of the curve and compliantly optimizing NIL activities for their athletes. As ASP expands its GM Program, it will continue to support all school partners through an advisory role in addition to providing ongoing innovative and strategic guidance on policy and initiatives and customized educational support.

ASP became Arizona State’s NIL strategic planning and educational consultant in August 2022, a partnership to develop the school’s NIL program and provide tailored educational support to benefit all men’s and women’s sports programs.
