UAM Athletics Moves to Next Step of Legacy Campaign

MONTICELLO, Ark. - After the successful completion of the Kenneth H. Hunt Athletic Performance Center, the University of Arkansas at Monticello Athletic Department is moving forward to the next projects in the Legacy Campaign.

After two busy years of planning, fundraising, and construction, an official ribbon cutting ceremony and dedication of the UAM Athletic Performance Center was held on Sept. 30 inside the newly renovated 4,000-square-foot weight room. The new facility is connected to Steelman Fieldhouse, on the east side of the building, located just south of baseball's center field fence. The Kenneth H. Hunt Athletic Performance Center includes a brand new strength training equipment, cardio equipment, rubber flooring, televisions, and sound system.

The $1.3 million project was completely funded by private gifts and includes a state of the art weight room and 3,000-square-foot athletic training area for student-athletes to utilize in their performance on and off the field, court, or course.

"We are moving toward our next facility improvement that will continue to show our campaign is working," said Athletic Director Hud Jackson. "We hope this shows our supporters that their donation will go to building something quickly! Our new performance center is already making an impact in recruiting and in our teams' workout programs! We need everyone to join in and be part of the positive movement!!"

The Performance Center was just the beginning of the end goal for the Legacy Campaign, with the new weight room and training room being the first of multiple projects. Take a look at the photo below to see where the Campaign is going with future renovations.

Legacy Campaign Five-Phases

More information about the Legacy Campaign

The Legacy Campaign is the next big step for UAM Athletics that focuses on enhancing the support of student-athletes through major facility improvements. The project is built around improving the quality of facilities our exceptional student-athletes and prospective student-athletes deserve.

All tax-deductible donations to this campaign can be made to the UAM Legacy Campaign, part of the UAM Foundation Fund. Gifts of any amount are greatly appreciated as alumni and friends of UAM join together in this capital campaign to make an incredible impact on our facilities.

The goal is to have 250 donors join each year, generating a yearly revenue of $250,000 towards improving these different facilities. By achieving the goal of 250 donors at $1,000/year ($83.33/Month), the UAM Athletics Department ensures the objective of continuing to keep moving forward.

$50 of your initial commitment will go towards your membership in the UAM Sports Association.

Thank you for your commitment to improving the student-athlete experience at UAM!
