Mercyhurst Athletics announces the addition of Men's Club Bowling. Having added Women's Bowling as a varsity sport in 2019-20, Director of Athletics, Joe Spano, is thrilled to continue growing the sport.  

"The success our women have had since starting the program, along with the notoriety of our coach and continued support of the community, has made this addition an easy decision. We are excited to expand this program and look forward to its continued success." 

With the addition of the new club program, Head Women's Bowling coach Mike Machuga will assume the role as the Director of Bowling, while continuing as the Head Women's Coach. Former Laker standout Haley Youker, along with current bowler Samantha Strebel, will act as assistant coaches for the squad.  

Director of Bowling and Head Coach, Mike Machuga also expresses his excitement and states "I am extremely excited about the addition of the Men's Bowling Program here at Mercyhurst.  We have established a solid, competitive program on the women's side, and I am highly motivated to build a team from the ground up on the men's side. We welcome any and all males, who are interested in the game and sport, into the inaugural squad. We focus on basic fundamentals here, and I am excited for the opportunity to teach the different styles of the men. We will teach and coach them as individuals, while growing them together as a team."
