YOUNG HARRIS, GA. | Young Harris College announces John Lichtenwalner as Director of Golf. John played for the Young Harris College men's golf program from 2017-2021. 

John spent the last two years playing professional golf in Lakeland, FL., in various mini tours around the southeast USA. He has also spent time working as a caddie at the Streamsong Resort in Bowling Green, FL. 

"I am thrilled that John has accepted our Director of Golf position. John was an outstanding student-athlete at Young Harris and knows what it takes to be successful, both on and off the golf course. John is a great fit for our athletic department and I am confident our student-athletes will grow under his leadership," says Director of Athletics Jennifer Rushton. 

John stated "I am honored to be selected as the next Director of Golf at Young Harris College, and I would like to thank Jennifer Rushton for the opportunity to return to my alma mater. I grew tremendously both as a person and golfer during my time as a student-athlete at Young Harris, and I intend to establish a culture that has the same effect on current and future players. I am hoping for a relatively seamless integration into the men's and women's teams, as they are currently mid-season.
I am looking forward to using my philosophies and experience to build on the past successes of both programs."

John earned his bachelor's degree in Accounting with a Mathematics minor. While at YHC, he was a member of the honors program, Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Student-Leadership Council, Sigma Beta Delta Honor Society, Elite 15 Award Recipient, and the Luke Rushton '42 Scholar-Athlete Award.
