Laura Edholm Joins Hilbert College Athletics Senior Leadership

HAMBURG, N.Y. – Hilbert College Athletic Director Tim Seil announced that Laura Edholm will assume a new role within the college. Edholm, who was the Head Mixed Golf Coach this past fall, has been named Associate Athletic Director/Title IX Coordinator/Head Golf Coach. She will start this new position on November 1st, 2023.

Seil said, "Laura did an outstanding job with our golf student-athletes this past fall. I look forward to continuing to work with Laura in this new role. She brings with her a ton of coaching and administrative experience at the Division III level."

"I am so grateful to Tim and Dr. Brophy for the opportunity to join the staff at Hilbert College.  I have worked with many of them in my time as an athletic administrator and I am excited to work with the College Community as well as student-athletes to support success in their academic journey" shared Edholm.  "There are so many exciting things happening at Hilbert right now and I am thrilled to be part of the growth."

Edholm will help oversee student-athlete academics and NCAA compliance efforts. She will also work with the entire Hilbert campus community to manage the college's Title IX regulations and education.

Edholm is no stranger to athletics in Western New York. She joined the Hawks athletics program after proudly serving, since 1997, the Medaille University student-athletes.

During her 26-year tenure at the North Buffalo campus, Edholm held multiple roles for the Mavericks athletic department. She ended her time at Medaille as the college's Athletic Director and Head Golf Coach.

Edholm was tasked with directing and managing the athletics department while spearheading their fundraising efforts. She was the Advisor to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Her personality and sport knowledge allowed her to serve as head coach for four different sport programs over the 25 years.

She led the Golf team in 2021 and 2022 after battling back from the COVID-19 pandemic. Previously, the Tonawanda resident guided the women's bowling program to four AMCC regular season championships (2015, 2019, 2020, 2021) and three consecutive AMCC Tournament Titles. Her 2018-19 team, after winning 60 matches, took the AMCC's first-ever automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Before her time on the lanes, Edholm directed the Medaille Softball team from 2012-2016 and spent time on the hardwood leading the Women's Volleyball program from 1999 until 2005.

She was named the AMCC Women's Bowling Coach of the Year four times. She recruited and developed multiple All-Conference, Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year athletes, in each sport she coached.

Edholm was a Division I golfer and volleyball player while studying at Coastal Carolina and continues to hold the second and third highest single season total of service aces for the volleyball program. She was named to the 1992 Big South Volleyball All-Tournament team. She currently resides in Tonawanda with her husband John and children, Tyler (Niagara '22) and Ryan (Canisius '25).
