Moon Township, Pa. – RMU Vice President and Director of Athletics Chris King '94 announced Friday that Heather Schrecengost has been promoted to Associate Athletic Director for business operations. In addition, Schrecengost will serve as the department's Senior Woman Administrator (SWA).

"Heather is a rising star in athletics administration and we're excited for her promotion to Associate Athletics Director for business operations," said King. "In addition, Heather will have the designation of the senior ranking female in the department and serve as Senior Woman Administrator (SWA). She has established strong relationships and generated tremendous respect from staff inside the athletics department and across the RMU campus, and her leadership will be instrumental in impacting the student-athlete experience of our 400+ student-athletes. I have no doubt she will continue to have a terrific impact on our athletics department."

As part of her duties, Schrecengost, a native of Tarentum, Pa., will oversee student-athlete programming, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and student-athlete code of conduct. She originally joined RMU in November of 2021 as Athletic Administrative Services Coordinator.

"It's extremely exciting to serve in these roles at my alma mater," Schrecengost said. "Student-athlete welfare and success is something we take pride in at RMU, and I'm looking forward to building on the initiatives that are already in place and continuing to focus on the holistic development of each of our student-athletes."

A 2017 graduate of RMU with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with a concentration in sport management, Schrecengost served as an operations and recruiting assistant with the football program during her undergraduate tenure. As part of her duties, Schrecengost assisted in planning and executing the annual Joe Walton Celebrity Golf Outing as well as the planning and execution of logistics for both home and road games.

Named the 2017 RMU School of Business Outstanding Senior in Sport Management, Schrecengost began her career in collegiate athletics at Youngstown State, serving as a graduate assistant for academics and compliance in 2017-18. While with the Penguins, Schrecengost helped develop individualized academic success plans for student-athletes while assisting in various NCAA Division I compliance processes.

In 2019, Schrecengost earned a Master of Science degree in sport management from Indiana State University, where she posted a perfect 4.00 cumulative grade point average (GPA).
