Ryan Snyder Named Assistant Athletic Director of Development

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – University of Central Missouri Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Matt Howdeshell announced the hiring of Ryan Snyder as the new Assistant Athletic Director of Development on Monday, Oct. 16.

Snyder will join the Mules and Jennies on December 1 after spending the previous two years at fellow MIAA school Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Mo.

"Ryan Snyder's familiarity with the University of Central Missouri, the MIAA Conference, broad experience, and ability to develop meaningful relationships made him an ideal fit to join our team." Howdeshell said. "Ryan also brings a unique perspective as a former student-athlete that motivates him every day to help future student-athletes maximize their academic and athletic potential."

Snyder has been the Assistant Athletic Director for External Operations for the Lions for the last two years where he was responsible for corporate sponsorships, game day operations, and ticketing.

"I'd like to thank Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics, Matt Howdeshell, and Associate Athletic Director, Jeff Mason, for the opportunity to join the Central Missouri team." Snyder said. "I look forward to working closely with Billy Ukrazhenko in engaging our donors to leave a lasting impact on our Mules and Jennies student-athletes, coaches, and programs. I'm eager for my return to Warrensburg and continuing my time as a member of the UCM family. Go Mules! Go Jennies!"

Prior to his time in Joplin, Snyder spent three years as the Assistant Director of Strategic Communications at Penn State University where he served as the primary contact for the baseball, track and field / cross country, women's basketball, and women's soccer programs.

Before his stretch in Happy Valley, Snyder served as the Director of Athletic Communications at Quincy University where he oversaw all 19 NCAA sponsored athletic teams.

Snyder was a First Team All-American baseball player at Quincy University in 2016 where he broke multiple single season records, including home runs (23), RBIs (88), and hits (92) while finishing the season with a .444 batting average (third highest average in program history). In 2015, he was a First Team All-GLVC selection leading the Hawks to their first 40-win season since 2006.

Prior to his stint at Quincy, Snyder spent three seasons in Warrensburg as a member of the Mules baseball team, winning two regular season MIAA titles and one conference tournament title and making two NCAA Central Regional appearances.
