Stephens College Welcomes Clint Poulsen as New Head Softball Coach

Embarking on a new chapter, Stephens Stars softball anticipates a promising future under the leadership of first-year Head Coach Clint Poulsen. Bringing a wealth of coaching experience from high schools in Pilot Grove, Boonville, Cole Camp, and most recently Rock Bridge High School, Poulsen has also contributed to the softball scene through club coaching. With a career deeply rooted in mid-Missouri, he has fostered valuable connections within the softball community for many years.

In addition to his coaching prowess, Poulsen boasts 19 years of experience as a public school teacher. Hailing from a small rural Missouri high school, he played men's fast pitch softball during and after high school, igniting his enduring passion for the game. Further showcasing his athletic background, Poulsen played baseball at Central Methodist for two seasons in 1995-96.

Expressing his enthusiasm for this new role, Poulsen shares, "I feel very fortunate and excited to take over the softball program at Stephens. This has been a career goal of mine, and I look forward to building something great here!"

Beyond his professional achievements, Poulsen is a dedicated family man, a proud father to five children—Kayla, Jake, Luke, Brooks, and Grace—and embracing the role of grandfather to Callen. Stephens College eagerly anticipates the positive impact Coach Poulsen will bring to the softball program and the entire campus community.

"I am excited about the addition of Clint Poulsen to the Stars Athletics Family.  Coach Clint is someone who understands and knows the game of softball. He understands the mission, vision, and what we want to accomplish for our athletics department, on and off the field. I am truly excited for our players and what the future holds with Coach Clint as our new Head Softball Coach." - Andre Bell, Athletic Director
