Jeremy Stout Named Director of Esports

EUGENE, Ore. – Bushnell University announces the hiring of Jeremy Stout as the new Director of Esports.

Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Leader, Sarah Freeman, said, "Through the hiring process it was clear early on that Jeremy's faith, energy, passion, and skills make him the right person for the job. Jeremy brings a wealth of experience and his vision for the future is infectious. I'm excited for this next phase of Bushnell Esports with Jeremy at the helm."

Stout graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Print and Media Communications from East Central University before earning a Master's in Administration, also from East Central. He went on to complete a Master's in Digital Marketing from Full Sail University.

Stout said, "I'm so thrilled to join a place that is centered around Christ and gives opportunities for athletic expertise as well as spiritual guidance. I look forward to sharing my journey with Bushnell's finest esports athletes."

He joins Bushnell after three years with the Wylie Independent School District as an esports coach and Career and Technical Education (CTE) educator. His coaching accomplishments include taking a League of Legends team to the playoffs every season, including an undefeated, 20-0, regular season and a third-ranked team in the state of Texas. He won a state championship in both League and Mario Kart last season.

He also has experience at the collegiate level, leading the Dallas College Eastfield esports program. His coaching methodology emphasizes personalized training plans, regular feedback sessions, and mentorship opportunities, allowing players to develop their skills in a supportive atmosphere.

"My goal is to cultivate a winning program, not with just wins, but with skill sets and attitudes that can change the world," said Stout. "I will do my best and let the Lord do the rest."

Stout will begin his leadership in a remote capacity immediately as he prepares to move his family to Eugene in the near future.
