Tipton Named Women's Golf Head Coach

DECORAH, Iowa – Luther College is excited to announce Terry Tipton as the new women's golf coach for the upcoming 2023-24 season. Tipton enters his first season as head coach after joining the program in the spring of 2023 as an assistant coach.
A 2001 Luther graduate, Terry is returning to where it all started. He was a four-year letter winner and earned the Golf Coaches Association of America All-America Scholar Award.  Terry played under the direction of Luther's Director of Golf & Head Men's Golf Coach, Scott Fjelstul.

"I'm impressed with Terry's vision and excitement for the future of our women's golf team," Fjelstul said. "I'm thrilled such an accomplished alumnus has returned as he aims to help our student-athletes grow, improve and be successful."

Tipton has a Master's degree from the University of Washington Milgard School of Business. He has held consulting and leadership positions in the financial services industry since graduating from Luther and brings a strong track record of leading and contributing to high performing teams.

"Luther women's golf has a long history of success and I'm eager to learn from the legendary coach Fjelstul", Tipton said.  "We aim to elevate the experiences of our student-athletes, help each individual reach new heights, and put the team in position to be among the best golf programs in the midwest."
