MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State University Athletics Department is excited to introduce the Mustang Club, a new streamlined approach for supporting Mustang student-athletes and programs.
The Mustang Club debuts this fall and becomes the official fundraising arm of the SMSU athletics department. The Mustang Club combines several key areas all under one fundraising umbrella: the Mustang Booster Club, Legacy Clubs, team fundraisers, and more.
"We are excited to bring the Mustang Club to life," said SMSU Director of Athletics, Jennifer Flowers. "The ever-changing landscape of college athletics requires us to continue to be creative and forward-thinking in our fundraising efforts. We wanted to create a platform that would provide our supporters and donors the most efficient way to donate to Mustang athletics."
Contributors to the Mustang Club will have added flexibility when making their donation. In addition, the goal of the Mustang Club is to expand membership to include even more alumni, families, supporters of Mustang Athletics.
"We are grateful to the Mustang Club Advisory Board members and other community members whose input has been instrumental in this process," Flowers said. "We all genuinely believe that combining the fundraising efforts already established into one simplified and modernized effort, will lead to even greater support of SMSU Athletics. We are continually working to elevate the experience for our student-athletes and are confident the Mustang Club will help us do that."
