South Orange, N.J. - Kevin McGlynn, who has served as the Seton Hall women's tennis coach for 13 seasons over two stints, including the last five seasons, has tendered his resignation to pursue a new opportunity in private tennis club management. Prior to returning to the Pirates in 2018, McGlynn was the director of tennis and then general manager of Bradford Bath and Tennis Club in Cedar Grove, N.J.

"Kevin has been a positive influence on our student-athletes on the court and in the classroom since his return to the University, and I want to thank him for his service in helping our student-athletes grow and prosper," said Seton Hall Director of Athletics Bryan Felt. "We wish him all the best in his new opportunity."

McGlynn was re-hired in February 2018, and his student-athletes have excelled in the classroom since, winning the ITA All-Academic Team Award in all five of his seasons. McGlynn's student-athletes have also combined for 26 ITA Scholar Student-Athlete selections, which requires a 3.5 GPA or higher, since 2018. All of his student-athletes have earned BIG EAST All-Academic team honors.

On the court, three of McGlynn's student-athletes earned an All-BIG EAST selection. And in 2018-19, McGlynn guided the Pirates to their most dual match wins since 2004-05 with 13 victories.

"I want to thank Pat Lyons for reaching out to me nearly five years ago to consider a return as the head coach of the women's tennis team," McGlynn said. "I have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to meet so many outstanding student-athletes from all corners of the world and help them grow personally and improve athletically.  The current athletic administration, led by athletics director Bryan Felt, has fully supported the program, our student-athletes, and me, and I'm excited to see the future success of the women's tennis program in the coming seasons!  Go Pirates!"

During his first run as head coach from 1991-96, McGlynn compiled a 70-34 dual match record, which included the program's only undefeated season in 1992-93, when Seton Hall went 17-0. McGlynn was also at the helm when the Pirates earned their only NCAA Tournament bid in 1996 and presided over the program's best BIG EAST Championship finish, runner-up in 1994.

McGlynn finishes with a 98-80 record overall, 34-28 in BIG EAST matches.
