Evan Drew Named Siena Women’s Golf Head Coach

Former RPI Men’s Golf Head Brings Valuable Coaching Experience to Loudonville

LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena College Vice President & Director of Athletics John D'Argenio announced the hiring of Evan Drew as the sixth head coach of Siena Women's Golf. No stranger to the Capital Region, Drew comes to Loudonville after leading the men's golf program at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) to national prominence.

"Evan brings valuable collegiate head coaching experience to Siena, having taken RPI to the NCAA Championship last year, and experience recruiting outstanding student athletes," D'Argenio said. "We are excited that he will bring that experience and those skills to Loudonville."

Drew takes over the 13-time MAAC Champion Saints – Siena's most successful program in the conference to-date – following a two-year stint at nearby RPI as the Head Men's Golf Coach and Assistant Women's Basketball Coach. A finalist for the 2023 NCAA Division III Dave Williams Award as the top men's golf coach in Division III, he led the Engineers to a program-best eighth-place at the NCAA Division III Championships this past spring.

"I am extremely honored to be named the next Head Women's Golf Coach at Siena College," Drew said. "I would like to thank John D'Argenio and Angie Jabir for giving me the opportunity to be the next head coach of this historic program. I look forward to working with our student-athletes to help them succeed both on the course and in the classroom. I can't wait to get to work with the team to compete for the MAAC Championship."

While at RPI, Drew also led the program to the 2023 Liberty League Championship and was named the 2023 Liberty League Coach of the Year. He coached the Liberty League Player of the Year during both the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons, coached a GCAA Second Team All-American (2022-23) and Third Team All-American (2021-22), four GCAA All-Region selections, and had one player qualify as an individual for the 2022 NCAA Division III Golf Championships.

Prior to RPI, Drew had stints as an Assistant Men's Soccer Coach at the The College of Saint Rose in 2021, as an Assistant Women's Soccer Coach at Hartwick from 2018-19, and as an Assistant Coach with the men's basketball and women's soccer programs at SUNY Adirondack from 2017-18.

Drew has served as an Assistant Golf Professional at Saratoga Spa Golf Course in Saratoga Springs since 2018, and previously served as an assistant pro at the Ausable Club in Keene Valley, NY.

A native of Elizabethtown, NY, he was a multi-sport student-athlete in both high school (Elizabethtown-Lewis) and at SUNY Canton. Drew played golf for two years and soccer (goalkeeper) and basketball (guard) for one each at Canton before graduating with a Bachelor's of Business Administration in Sports Management in 2014.
