Nazareth Athletics Partners with UR Medicine Fitness Science

ROCHESTER, NY - Nazareth athletics has partnered with the University of Rochester – Fitness Science to help build the whole athlete. Fitness Science is a research-based program from UR Medicine. It helps athletes optimize their performance through an integrative approach that includes four crucial pillars of athleticism – Strength and Conditioning, Nutrition, Mindset, and Data Analysis.  Each Nazareth athletics team will have unrestricted access to the experienced UR team, focusing on the four pillars:
 
Strength and Conditioning
UR experts use research-based method to help athletes increase strength, perfect their form and prevent injury.

  • Energy system demand
Athletes stay connected to the UR experts with the year-round customized team app. A member of the UR Fitness Science staff will be on-site at Nazareth for all strength and conditioning workouts.  
 
Sports Nutrition
Athletes learn nutritional strategies for optimizing performances, games, and everyday life.

Mindset Coaching

Dr. Cypher is a Sport & Performance Clinical Psychologist. He is the only New York State Licensed Psychologist in the Greater Rochester area to also be recognized as a Certified Mental Performance Consultant®. Dr. Cypher has over a decade of experience working as a psychologist with youth, high school, college, and professional athletes and their families.
 
Data Analysis
The U of R team is guided by the latest research and uses data to customize each athlete's training to track their progress.
