Brittany Bresley begins her fourth year as the MIT assistant director of athletics for compliance and student-athlete development in 2023-24. She was named to the position on December 11, 2020 and was tabbed as the senior woman administrator beginning in the 2023-24 season.

Bresley joined the MIT staff from nearby Boston College, where she has served on the compliance staff since 2018. She began her time at BC as the assistant director of compliance and financial aid from 2018-2019 before being promoted to her current position of associate director of compliance in 2019. Bresley has facilitated in the education and monitoring of the 31 Division I teams at Boston College, as well as working closely with financial aid and the creation and implementation of new educational materials for administration, coaches and student-athletes. She has also worked closely with the NCAA and the ACC in the areas of sport sponsorship reports and waivers, violations and interpretation requests. In addition to the extensive compliance program, Bresley also has sport supervision duties for women’s volleyball as she oversees travel budgets and other various team issues.

Prior to her arrival at Boston College, she was a member of the Northeastern University athletics staff in a number of roles from 2014-2018. After starting as a legal graduate assistant from 2014-15, Bresley served as the compliance coordinator from 2015-16 before eventually moving into the position of assistant director of compliance from 2016-18.

Bresley earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Boston College in 2012 and is currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Boston College. In addition, she earned her Juris Doctor from the Northeastern University School of Law in 2015.

She is also a member of the NAAC Education Committee, a mentor within the Women Leaders in College Sports Mentorship program and a member of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Athletics Committee at Boston College.
