GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNC Greensboro (UNCG) and volleyball Head Coach Corey Carlin have mutually agreed to part ways, Director of Athletics Brian Mackin has announced. 
 
Associate Head Coach Nicole Cirillo will serve as interim while the university conducts a national search.
 
"UNCG is committed to excellence in all of our athletic programs, both in the classroom and in the competitive arena," said UNCG Director of Athletics Brian Mackin. "We appreciate Corey's dedication to making both a priority, but we jointly agreed it was time to make a change. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Corey for his leadership and commitment to this program."
 
Established in 1980 and per the record book, the Spartans appeared in the NCAA Division III Tournament three times and the NCAA Division II Tournament one time. The Spartans were regular season champions in the Big South twice. UNCG earned its first SoCon regular season championship in 2021. 
 
"I have had the pleasure of coaching some amazing student-athletes, working alongside some great coaches, and have enjoyed some wonderful experiences," said Carlin. "I will forever be grateful for having the opportunity to lead this program and for being a part of its first-ever Southern Conference Championship. I want to thank UNCG and former Deputy AD Stacy Kosciak for giving me this opportunity nine seasons ago, along with current athletic director Brian Mackin and senior associate AD Jennifer Aguilar for their ongoing support of the volleyball program." 
 
Carlin led the program for nine seasons and posted a 138-125 overall record and a 74-60 mark in Southern Conference play.
