SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University Athletics has notified PSAC conference officials of issues which could affect some student athletes' eligibility to compete in the 2023-24 academic year. University staff are committed to thoroughly investigating the situation to ensure implementation of all corrective measures.

"When the University noticed irregularities, I contacted the PSAC conference officials to seek their assistance," said Chauncey Winbush, Vice President of Athletics.

Separately, University staff are now making a comprehensive review of all aspects of eligibility compliance last year as well.  "We are at an early stage of assessing the information and will carefully review the impact of errors that were made," Winbush continued. "The University is committed to appropriate public disclosure, while honoring student privacy. I will be working transparently with PSAC officials to address any problems that arise and want to thank everyone assisting in the process."

Once the University completes its review of the Athletics Program, it will be obligated to self-report any rules violations to the NCAA.
