Riccobono to Take Charge of Devils Women’s Lacrosse Program

Madison NJ (September 13)- Announced by Director of Athletics Kristin Giotta, Rosamaria Riccobono is slated to take charge as the new Head Women's Lacrosse coach for the FDU Florham Devils effective immediately.
"FDU Athletics is thrilled to announce Rosamaria Riccobono as our next Head Women's Lacrosse Coach." Giotta said. "Rosa brings a wealth of experience as a Head Coach at the Division III level and has strong ties to external clubs, which in return, will help promote the recruitment and retention of our student-athletes."

Riccobono enters her second stint as a head women's lacrosse coach as she served as the head coach at Elms College from 2017-2019. During her time there, she led the program to their first undefeated conference record in program history en route to a New England Collegiate Conference Championship and a first-round birth in the NCAA tournament in 2018. She also coached seven NECC First Team Selections, 10 NECC Second Team Selections, the NECC Player of the Year (2018), the NECC Female Senior Athlete of the Year (2019), Elms College Sophomore Athlete of the Year (2019), Elms College Female Athlete of the Year (2019), 17 NECC All-Academic Team Selections, 6 IWLCA All- Academic Selections, earned IWLCA Honor Roll Squad (2018) and was the NECC Coach of the Year in 2018.

Rosamaria comes to FDU-Florham after serving as an assistant coach at Ramapo College in 2023. Under her coaching, she helped improve the overall statistics of the teams ground balls, caused turnovers, clears, and save percentage. She was also extremely active in scouting and game planning.

Before her time at Ramapo, Riccobono was an assistant coach at Eastern Connecticut State from 2019-2021, where she was also the team's recruiting coordinator. While also helping improve the team's product on the field, she was very active off the field as she helped develop fundraising, alumni relations, and social media content. She started the team's inaugural golf scramble and prize calendar fundraiser that raised over $10,000 in the fall semester of 2020. She also served as the acting head coach during the non-traditional fall 2019 season, creating practice plans and holding player/academic meetings

Riccobono also served as the Director of Girls North for the Building Blocks Lacrosse Club from 2021-2023. Under her tutelage, she oversaw all aspects of the girls north region. She added new players to travel teams, supported families with the collegiate recruitment process, and managed rosters for seven teams leading to championship wins at NXT Level Nine, NGLL 2026 and Platinum Games. She also helped incorporate a sports psychology program to inspire mental wellness with her players.

Rosamaria also spent multiple years as a representative on committees for the IWLCA and NECC and even has experience as a site manager for NCAA tournament games.

"I am humbled to be selected as the next Head Women's Lacrosse Coach. I would like to thank Kristin Giotta and the search committee for this incredible opportunity to join the FDU community." Riccobono stated. "I'm committed to fostering an exceptional student-athlete experience and continuing the charge to be a top contender of the MAC Freedom Conference with the ultimate goal to compete at the national level. I'm eager to get started and to work with this dedicated group of student-athletes!"
