Jaime Browne Named Associate Commissioner for Governance & Compliance

CHARLOTTE, NC – The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) is pleased to announce that Jaime Browne has been named Associate Commissioner for Governance & Compliance.

“I am excited to have Jaime join the CIAA family and thrilled to see our Governance and Compliance team continue to grow,” said Senior Associate Commissioner for Governance & Compliance Eddie Weatherington. “Mrs. Browne brings 20+ years of multidivisional compliance experience and many leadership roles within the NCAA compliance committees and organizations.”

A native of Trinidad and Tobago, Browne holds a master’s degree in Physical Education – Sports Management from Adelphi University and received her bachelor’s degree in Information Technology with a Minor in Economics from St. Francis College. As the Associate Commissioner for Governance & Compliance, Jaime will be the lead liaison with member compliance officers and CIAA Faculty Athletic Representative Association with regards to NCAA and CIAA rules and regulations. Browne will also lead the efforts to digitize membership reporting and monitoring efforts. She joins the CIAA staff from her most recent stint as Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations at Queens College. Prior to that, she was Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance also at Queens College.

Browne brings 22 years of combined experience in the field of athletic administration at the institution, conference, national governing body, and international level. Her experience includes coordinating, implementing, administering, overseeing, and evaluating all facets of athletic compliance, managing and supervising game day operations and special events, planning and organizing international competitions, monitoring, and evaluating the academic status of all student-athletes.
