Blake Trimble joins Oklahoma City as the new head men's golf coach

OKLAHOMA CITY - OCU athletics names Blake Trimble as its new head men's golf coach.

Blake Trimble joins OCU athletics as the new head golf coach after previously serving at the helm for Southwestern Christian's men's golf team. Oklahoma City athletic director Corey Bray praised Trimble for his golf experience and expertise.."I am very excited that Blake Trimble is our new head men's golf coach.  Blake's extensive experience as a professional golfer combined with his collegiate playing and coaching experience at another college right here in the OKC metro area, provides a strong foundation for his ability to develop our student-athletes on the golf course" Bray said.

Prior to becoming the head coach at Southwestern Christian, Trimble spent time as an assistant golf coach at Crossing Christian School in Oklahoma city. In this role, Trimble helped with the middle school, junior varsity and varsity golf teams.

In 2009 Trimble became a professional golfer where he competed nationwide in numerous pro tournaments including the Adams Tours and the Korn Ferry Tour.

In the summer of 2007 Trimble worked for Golf Inc. as a golf instructor where he helped coach and teach junior golf clinics and helped run junior golf tournaments.

Trimble's Oklahoma City roots run deep, dating all the way back to the mid-2000s where he began his collegiate playing career at Southern Nazarene University. While at SNU Trimble picked up an Academic All-American award (2005), became SNU's Male Student Athlete of the Year (2006), and was a two-time golf All-American (2004-05, 2005-06).

After his playing career, Trimble continued his education and joined the SNU golf staff as a graduate assistant and remained on staff as an assistant coach from 2006-08 where he assisted with both men's and women's teams.

Bray mentioned, " Blake is well equipped to attract high-quality student-athletes who will have a tremendous experience while learning life skills that will significantly enhance the outstanding education they will receive in the classroom at OCU.  Please join me in welcoming Blake to the Home of Champions."

Trimble received a Bachelor of Business Administration with a distinction in Finance from Southern Nazarene University in 2006 before receiving a Masters of Business Administration in 2008.
