IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced a partnership with ProhiBet, which will provide The American with monitoring software and tools that will play a pivotal role in preventing student-athletes, coaches, and staff from engaging in prohibited sports wagering.
ProhiBet’s technology provides a secure and transparent method for sports properties and sportsbook operators to ensure that student-athletes, coaches, and administrative staff remain compliant with the intricate state regulations that govern sports betting activities.
The American previously announced a partnership with U.S. Integrity to provide monitoring services and analysis to proactively identify irregular contest-level officiating and wagering patters. The partnership with ProhiBet further enhances the effectiveness of that service by recognizing prohibited bettors who would have undue influence on an event or market.
The American’s partnerships with ProhiBet and U.S. Integrity are part of a two-fold approach to solidify the conference’s oversight surrounding sports betting and prohibited bettors. This approach will also see The American strengthen its control over the dissemination of the conference’s data.
