NEW YORK - Columbia University's Campbell Family Director of Intercollegiate Athletics & Physical Education Peter Pilling announced today that David Poolman has been named the Senior Associate Athletic Director of Operations and Administration. Poolman, who spent six years in various positions with the athletics department from 2010-18, will be responsible for athletic facilities, events management, capital projects, oversight of the Tennis Center, and will serve as a sports program administrator.

"We are excited to welcome Dave back to Columbia as a member of our senior management team," Pilling said. "His knowledge, expertise and familiarity with the University and Athletics program will assist in our ability to support our student-athletes and Columbia community."

Poolman spent the past five years as the Executive Director and League Commissioner of the College Squash Association, the official governing body for intercollegiate squash in the United States. Poolman previously served as the Associate Athletics Director for Intercollegiate Sports Programs for Columbia Athletics from 2014 to 2018. Poolman was appointed as a member of the NCAA Men's and Women's Fencing Committee in 2016 and served as the Administrative Chair of the Ivy League Squash Coaches Committee from 2015 to 2018.

Before holding various positions in the Columbia Athletics Department, Poolman worked at the United States Merchant Marine Academy from 2007 to 2010, where he was an events coordinator, operations specialist, and equipment manager and taught physical education classes.

"I am very excited about this opportunity to rejoin the Columbia community and to contribute to the success of Columbia Athletics," Poolman said. "I look forward to doing everything I can to support Columbia's student-athletes, coaches, staff members, and friends with another exciting year already underway!"
