Setters Welcome Carrie Hurlman As Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Pace University Director of Athletics and Recreation Mark Brown announced the addition of Carrie Hurlman, M.Ed, ATC, LAT to the Setters staff in the role of Assistant Athletic Director overseeing the Sports Medicine department.
 
"From a significant list of very qualified professionals, Carrie quickly separated herself as someone who not only has the vision to lead our Setter sports medicine department, but also cares a great deal about the population of students who she serves," said Brown.  "I can't wait to see the tremendously positive impact she will have on our student-athletes."
 
Hurlman comes to the Setters after eight years at University of Rhode Island where she worked primarily with the women's soccer and rowing teams as the associate athletic trainer. In addition to her athletic training duties and collaboration with the strength and conditioning staff, she acted as the insurance coordinator.
 
"I want to thank Athletic Director Mark Brown and the search committee for the opportunity to join Pace Athletics as the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine," remarked Hurlman. "It is our goal as a sports medicine department to be a resource for our student-athletes and coaches for health and safety which allows our teams to compete at the highest level. There is a rich history of success here in Setter Nation and I am excited to contribute that winning tradition in any way that I can."
 
Prior to her time with the Rams, Hurlman she served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer with the Providence College Friars from 2014-16. While earning her Master's degree in counseling, she worked with the women's soccer and softball programs.
 
A native of Middletown, N.Y., Hurlman arrived in Rhode Island after graduating from SUNY Cortland in 2012, having earned her bachelor's degree in athletic training. There she worked with women's gymnastics, men's lacrosse and football. Additionally, Hurlman spent two years as an intern athletic trainer at Bryant, working with women's volleyball, women's lacrosse and men's and women's tennis.
 
Hurlman currently resides in Yonkers, N.Y. with her wife Bridget.
